IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The general government conference committee is about to meet to pass the conference report that includes a $148 million or 11%  cut to local revenue sharing. Please contact the legislators today and ask them not support SB 245. Call the Governors office and ask her to line item veto the cut to revenue sharing. You can find the contact info for the Governor's office at:  http://www.michigan.gov/gov/0,1607,7-168-21995---,00.html

Please re-contact your legislators and tell them NOT to cut revenue sharing.

We know many legislators do not want to make these cuts and we need to encourage them to seek other options. We believe we can get enough legislator’s to restore the cuts made to revenue sharing  IF they continue to hear from enough of their constituents.

  •
  • Call your State Representative and your State Senator and ask to speak to them directly or leave a voice message for them. You can leave messages 24/7.  You should ALSO email them and/or send them a FAX. PLEASE begin doing this now. Get all your members to do it as well. If you get a busy signal when you call, please try again. Let’s also fill their email boxes with our opposition.

You can find the contact information for your Representative and Senator at: http://www.unionvoice.org/fire_fighters/leg-lookup/search.html

Enter your zip+4 or your address. Your Federal elected officials will appear first but simply click on the State tab located above their pictures and your State Representative and State Senator contact information will appear.

You should also contact Speaker Andy Dillon and Majority Leader Mike Bishop and tell them you are opposed to any cuts in State Revenue sharing.

Speaker Andy Dillon at: (517) 373-0857 or andydillon@house.mi.gov

Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop at: (517) 373-2417 or senmbishop@senate.michigan.gov

We need you to continue staying active until the final budget is adopted.
